API after migration: keys, access & rate limits
If you use Prospeo via API, this is what changes (and what doesn’t) when moving from V1 to V2.
Your existing API keys keep working (for now)
- Any API keys you used in V1 continue to work in V2 during the transition period.
- You will see them in your V2 dashboard.
- You can:
- Keep using them
- Revoke them
- Create new keys
Important: the current API will be discontinued
We’re keeping the current API available for a short transition period, but it will be discontinued in the coming months. To avoid any disruption, everyone must migrate to the new API.
You can find the latest API documentation and migration guides here: prospeo.io/api-docs. Prospeo
Where to manage API keys in V2
Go to your V2 dashboard → API / Integrations (or API Keys, depending on your UI).
Team keys (if you had a team in V1)
If you had teammates using API keys in V1, those keys may be imported and renamed so you can identify them (and so integrations don’t suddenly break after migration).
API rate limits
Some accounts had higher API rate limits in V1.
In V2:
- If you were on Business, Custom, Enterprise, or had a special high-rate flag,
we apply a high rate-limit profile automatically.
- In practice, your API capacity should stay the same or improve — you shouldn’t suddenly get throttled if you weren’t before.
If your API isn’t working
Check Migration issues & troubleshooting for quick checks and what to send support (error message/status code + API key name helps a lot).
