How to Remove a Team Member

Remove a member from your team and free up their seat for someone else.


Note: Removing a team member does not reduce your seat count or change your billing. The seat remains on your plan and can be reassigned to a new member. To reduce your seat count and billing, see How to Remove (Downgrade) a Seat.

Steps

  1. Go to Team Management.
  2. Locate the team member you want to remove.
  3. Click the red Trash Can button next to their name.

  1. A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Remove.

  1. The member is immediately removed from the team. Their seat is now available to invite a new member to join your team workspace.


Do Credits Used by a Removed Team Member Get Refunded?

Credits used by the removed member are not returned to the team credit pool.


Example: Your team is on Growth monthly with 2 seats, that means your team has a 10,000 credit limit for the whole team.

User A (team admin) uses 0 credits, and User B (member) uses 2,000 credits. Your team subscription settings will show 2,000/10,000 credits used, meaning there's 8000 credits left for the entire team to use.

As the team admin, let's say you remove User B from your team.

Your total shared credit pool still will show 8,000 credits remaining — you do not get the 2,000 credits already used by the removed team member back.

Your total monthly credit limit is still 10,000 because the seat still exists on your plan.

On Your Subscription settings, you will see under Credit Usage that show 2000/10000 credits used for the remainder of your billing period.

Removing a Team Member vs. Removing a Seat

Removing a team member and removing a seat are two separate actions:

  • Removing a team member revokes their access and frees the seat for reassignment. Your seat count, credit limit, and billing stay the same.
  • Removing (downgrading) a seat reduces your total seat count, lowers your team credit limit immediately, and adjusts your billing at the next renewal.

If you only remove a team member without downgrading the seat, you will continue to be billed for all seats at your next renewal (even if there are idle seats on your plan).


To both remove a member and a seat from your plan to reduce your billing:

  1. Remove the team member(s) by following the steps above.
  2. Then follow the steps in How to Remove (Downgrade) a Seat From Your Plan.


FAQs

If I remove a team member, does my billing change?

No. Removing a member frees up the seat but does not reduce your seat count or change your billing. To reduce billing, you must also downgrade the seat before your billing renewal. See How to Remove (Downgrade) A Seat From Your Plan.


Can I reassign a removed member's seat to someone else?

Yes. Once a member is removed, the seat is immediately available. Go to Team Management and click Add member to invite a new team member.


Can a team member remove themselves?

Yes, a team member can remove themselves from the team workspace by clicking on Leave from the Team dashboard. Note: If the team member is the sole admin of a workspace, they must assign the Admin role to another member before they can leave the workspace.


Do I get back the credits that the removed member used?

No. Credits already used by any team member are not recoverable.


If I remove a team member, can I still view their past credit usage and exports?

Yes, you can view removed team members' credit usage and previously exported lists under Analytics.


Can a removed team member still access the team account?

No. Their team access is revoked immediately upon removal. However, they will still have their own Prospeo account, it's just no longer a part of your team workspace.


I accidentally removed the wrong team member, can I re-invite them back?

Yes. After you remove a member, you can re-invite them at any time as long as you have an available seat.
