How to Connect Prospeo to Claude Using the MCP Server

Connect Prospeo to Claude so you can find verified emails, mobile numbers, and company data right inside your Claude conversations.

What Is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard that lets an AI app like Claude connect to outside tools like Prospeo. Once connected, you can ask Claude to look up leads and enrich contacts using Prospeo, without leaving your chat.


Requirements


Step 1: Connect Prospeo to Claude

  1. In Prospeo, go to the Integrations page on the left sidebar.
  2. Find MCP in the list and click Connect.
  3. Click Connect your MCP to open the connection details.

  1. In the Use with Claude dialog, you'll see two ways to connect:
  • Claude Desktop — connect to the hosted server (no installation needed). Copy the URL https://mcp.prospeo.io and add it as a connector.
  • Claude Code — run the provided command in your terminal to add Prospeo. You'll swap in your own Prospeo API key where the command shows YOUR_API_KEY.For this guide, we'll continue with Claude Desktop. Copy the Claude Desktop URL to proceed.

  1. Open Claude Desktop and click Customize on the left sidebar.

  1. Click Connectors.
  2. Click the plus icon to add a custom connector.

  1. Name your custom connector (in this case, "Prospeo") and paste in the Prospeo MCP URL you copied earlier. Then click Add.

  1. Once added, Prospeo will appear under Not connected, confirming it was added properly.
  2. Click Connect to link it to your Prospeo account.

  1. You'll be directed to the Prospeo website. Click Authorize to proceed.

  1. Return to Claude Desktop. Prospeo will now appear in the Web section, meaning it's connected properly.
  2. Adjust the permission settings as you wish. These can be changed at any time.


Note: Using Claude Code instead? After running the terminal command in Step 1, Prospeo is added directly, no connector setup needed. For full Claude Code setup instructions, see the Prospeo MCP Server Documentation.


Step 2: Using Prospeo in Your Claude Conversations

  1. Type your query in Claude's prompt box (for example, "Tell me about the company Stripe"). Then make sure the Prospeo connector is active by clicking the plus icon to open the dropdown menu.
  2. Click Connectors.
  3. Make sure Prospeo is enabled.
  4. Send your prompt.


  1. Depending on the permission settings you chose earlier, you may get a prompt asking for permission to proceed with the action. You can click Allow to continue.

  1. Claude will answer your question using Prospeo's data.


What You Can Do with Prospeo in Claude

Once connected, you can ask Claude to use Prospeo for tasks like:

  • Finding a person's verified work email and mobile number
  • Searching for prospects that match your target criteria (title, location, seniority, and more)
  • Getting a full company profile, including headcount, funding, and tech stack
  • Checking your Prospeo credit balance, plan, and renewal date


Credit Usage

Using Prospeo through Claude consumes credits the same way as using Prospeo directly:

  • Finding a person's email: 1 credit (email only) or 10 credits (email + mobile)
  • Enriching a company profile: 1 credit
  • Searching people or companies: 1 credit per results page
  • Checking your account info: free

Which Prospeo plans support the MCP integration?

Any plan with API access (Starter, Growth, or Pro). The Free plan has limited API access but may work for testing.


Does this use my Prospeo credits?

Yes. Each Prospeo action run through Claude consumes credits the same way as using Prospeo directly. See our MCP docs for a full breakdown.


Do I need to install anything to connect Prospeo to Claude?

It depends on which one you use. Claude Desktop connects to Prospeo's hosted MCP server at https://mcp.prospeo.io with nothing to install, you just add it as a custom connector. Claude Code uses a short terminal command to add Prospeo instead.


Why isn't Claude using Prospeo when I ask a question?

Make sure the Prospeo connector is enabled for your conversation. Click the plus icon, go to Connectors, and confirm Prospeo is switched on before sending your prompt.


Can I use Prospeo with other AI tools besides Claude?

Yes. Prospeo's MCP server works with any MCP-compatible client. See our MCP docs for the full list and setup instructions.


I lost or need to replace my connection. What do I do?

You can remove and re-add the Prospeo connector in Claude Desktop under Customize → Connectors, then reconnect and authorize again.
